9.30 : departure from Siena;
10.30 : tasting wines in the wine cellar of Siro Pacenti;
11.30 : tasting wines in the wine cellar Biondi Santi;
13.00 : lunch in the restaurant Poggio Antico;
15.30 : visit and tasting in the wine cellar Casanova del Neri;
17.30 : return to Siena
Departure from Siena at half past nine to reach the production zone of Brunello in the territory
of Montalcino. The first stop of the tour is the farm of Siro Pacenti, a young wine maker who applied
the French techniques to the production of Brunello wines. After we will visit the Biondi Santi wines
cellar and taste some of the most traditional Brunellos. Also considered some of the best. In fact this
family was the first to produce Brunello in 1888. For lunch we will go to the restaurant, Poggio Antico.
This place is very elegant, but at the same time it is relaxing and comfortable. It is considered one of
the best restaurant of the southern part of the Siena province. In the afternoon the last stop is at the
wine cellar of Casa Nova del Neri. In 2006, Wine Spectator awarded its Tenuta Nuova 2001 the best wine of
the world under 100 dollars.
We will return in the hotel around 17.30 p.m.
